Job Description

Description of Role

This internship will be for a minimum period of at least three months, from May to August (dependent on academic year).

This multi-disciplinary programme gives interns opportunities to develop their skills across a broad range of activities and gain valuable insights into an industry-level fashion association and its local and global initiatives, programmes, and resources. As part of the programme, interns will work in a specific department (estimate 75-80% of their time) and the opportunity to work with mentors of all SFC’s functional departments, from Industry Development, Sustainability, Events, Marketing, and Design Orchard (DORS).

Interns who successfully complete the programme will have experience with SFC on their CV, and a recommendation letter from the association. This opportunity is particularly relevant for individuals or students looking to gain holistic experience and explore their potential and suitability for a career in the fashion industry.

General Responsibilities

  • Assist and support with programmes, initiatives and relevant events at SFC
  • Assist in the preparation of documents, emails and presentation decks as necessary
  • Maintain and manage physical and digital archive of all documents and collaterals relevant to department, including agreements and contracts
  • Attend relevant workshops or events catered to your learning
  • Observe the organisation’s code of conduct, policies and guidelines in accordance with a professional working environment 

Departmental Responsibilities

Applicants may indicate departmental preferences in their applications but will be considered for all relevant open positions in the programme. 

Industry Development

  • Work with department on SFC’s industry and talent programmes and initiatives, such as course development and roll-out, scholarships, and career advisory programmes.
  • Track and update the resource database new business resources.
  • Assist the department to work cross-collaboratively with events and marketing teams on relevant programmes and initiatives.

Sustainability

  • Support research for key initiatives and engagement platforms
  • Identify trends in sustainability and sustainable solutions in the local and regional market
  • Support the planning and implementation of various sustainability initiatives of the organisation

Marketing

  • Support marketing team to plan, develop, and execute marketing initiatives.
  • Complete projects related to content creation and social media marketing.
  • Assist with the preparation of campaigns and reports.
  • Work with events team to help organise events.

Events

  • Track the progress of events and engagements across the business units at SFC, ranging from one-one-one talks, panel discussions, go-to-market opportunities and internal company events and programmes. 
  • Facilitate and coordinate with partners, vendors and participants on event logistics. -Provide administrative, logistic and tech support for pre-event setup, running of and post-event dismantle
  • Track registrations, attendees and assist in the preparation of post event reports.

Design Orchard Retail Showcase (DORS)

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the store, include assisting Visual Merchandiser to formulate the executional plans, monthly updates and refresh cycles of the retail store
  • Assist in Production of creative visual merchandising concepts, graphics and layouts
  • Support and create social media and marketing content, including collateral design for campaigns and events
  • Conceptualize, develop and execute marketing campaigns

CEO Office

  • Collaborate inter-departments to support the execution of special projects and initiatives
  • Projects will be of a strategic nature, good research, writing and project management skills are a plus. 
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project workflow

Partnerships & Engagement

  • Develop a clear roadmap for increased membership engagement.
  • Contribute to planning and executing events for enhanced partnerships
  • Conduct market research for partnership opportunities, and support outreach for these opportunities, including new reciprocal membership opportunities
  • Report on results and field research
  • Planning and Preparation of Annual General Meeting and Members Networking

Job Requirements

Requirements

A. Educational Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled or have graduated from an undergraduate course of any field.

B. Skills

  • Fluent in English and possess good reading comprehension and professional writing skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and take initiative
  • Strong communication, collaboration and organisation skills
  • Experience or interest in the fashion and retail industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in Graphic design and/or proficiency with Adobe Illustrator will be a plus
